We’re getting married!

Although we knew each other over a group message through a mutual friend, our official "meeting date" was January 21, 2017. I invited Connor and a few other people to Toledo Bend to spend the weekend. He originally couldn't come because it was the first weekend after school started, but decided to show up and surprise us! He was even cuter in person and I was instantly smitten. We hung out all day and had the greatest time! When dinner rolled around, I was cutting potatoes and sliced my finger. Connor came to my rescue and took care of me. The rest is history!

It was our anniversary weekend and we had a date night planned to celebrate the occasion. I was hoping Connor would propose that weekend, but I wasn't too sure by the way he was acting. After dinner, we ended up going to rent some movies (West Monroe is the only place I know that still has an actual movie rental place... I still am in awe over this). By this point, I was sure it wasn't going to happen. We get home, make small talk with his parents, then he tells me to come look at something outside. The back patio was strung with lights and he had one of my favorite artists (Stephen Day) playing in the background. He insisted we dance, even though I have two left feet, then got on one knee. As soon as I said yes, a firework show lit up the back yard! We came back inside and both of our families showed up to celebrate. It was a total surprise! Connor did so well!
