So What’s Your Story?

John and Kayla met on Match.Com around the end of May of 2017. John started the conversation by sending Kayla, “Hi, how are you?” Kayla was nervous to responded, but did anyways. John and Kayla talked back and forth for about two weeks before, John asked Kayla if she would want to go out sometime. They both agreed to go out on June 7th. Kayla told John he could choose where they went. John decided that Big Woods in Franklin would be a good place to go for a first date. However he had no idea it was at the Franklin Country Club. This caused him and Kayla to both think they were lost when they arrived for the date! Thankfully neither one catfished the other. They both hit it off right away, and their story officially began! Both knew that they possibly had just met the person they were going to spend the rest of their lives with.

The Proposal

July 13, 2019

John asked Kayla to marry him on July 13, in the gardens at West Baden Springs Hotel. John had been planning the proposal since bidding, and winning (along with his Sister, Ann, and Brother-In-Law Michael), the trip at the OA dinner auction in February. Ann suggested both couples go out to the gardens to take pictures before they went to dinner. After taking a few pictures together, Kayla went to walk away when John grabbed Her arm. He told her he had something he needed to ask her, and got down on one knee. John than asked Kayla if she would marry him. She of course said yes! Kayla was so excited to spend the rest of her life with John, that she took the ring out of the box and put it on her hand before John could.

Over the Past few Years.

John and Kayla have enjoyed not only spending time with each other, but also spending time with family, and friends. They have been on some amazing trips, and made a lot of memories. John and Kayla have enjoyed cheering on Purdue (John louder than Kayla at times!), as well as cheering on each other. Both are very thankful to their parents, and family. Without them, they know their story would not be the same. Both John, and Kayla hope to have a faith based marriage like both of their parents. They both cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives loving, and teasing each other.

We’re Married!

6/6/2020

John and I had a beautiful ceremony and reception this past year. We missed having the rest of our families, and friends, but were very thankful to have the people closet to us present. We look forward to celebrating with hopefully everyone this year! John, and I joke that our wedding was just too big of a deal, that it had to be separated into two events!
