Everyone wants to meet their partner, their friend, their person for every special moment. It is easy for that hope to wane, even on an app promising everything. In May 2021, just as the world started to feel normal, Tara and Harrison matched on Hinge and had the chance to meet up and talk in Madison Square Park. Both were scared it could be another failed date but excited by the connection they felt from just a few messages back and forth. Tara was instantly enamored by Harrison’s numerous passions- physics, singing, traveling, cooking, baking- and most importantly, she loved how much he cared about his friends and family. Harrison saw Tara’s devotion to all of those close to her, someone always ready to try new things, and couldn’t stop picturing that incredible smile. And who wouldn’t love those gorgeous red curls! The date was clearly going well, so Harrison suggested they get dinner at a nearby mozzarella bar. Harrison planned one creative date after another and they continued to have the best time, talking for hours. Tara even unintentionally sabotaged their first kiss on their second date because she wouldn’t stop talking! With some encouragement from her sister and roommates, Tara invited Harrison to meet her friends at Lisa’s birthday, a month into dating. It was no surprise that everyone got along so well and Tara’s friends ended the night telling her “he’s it. He’s the one for you”, and Tara 100% agreed. Over the next few months and years, Tara and Harrison’s families met, they traveled to numerous cities together, started new jobs, and eventually moved in together. On one of their first trips together, Harrison brought up the idea of him proposing in Italy and Tara swooned, wondering how she found him. So, in 2023 they planned a romantic trip to Lake Garda, Italy for their engagement. Harrison secretly booked the most beautiful hotel and brought Tara out to the gardens after dinner on April 22 and asked her to marry him. Neither of them could have known that at the end of their engagement trip, they'd wind up sitting across from each other at the same mozzarella bar in Italy as the one from their first date.
