Harrison and I often joke that our story of how we met is quite elaborate. We imagine it involves an exotic location and some newsworthy event. However, the reality is that we actually met during the pandemic in the same way many people were meeting at that time, online. It's funny how life works sometimes, isn't it? You really never know how or when you're going to meet someone special. Our first conversation on FaceTime lasted for 4 hours, and we were so engaged that we did it again the next couple of nights. We talked about everything under the sun - our interests, our dreams, our fears. It was like we had known each other for years. And even though we hadn't met in person yet, there was a spark between us that was undeniable. Our first unofficial date was at IHOP, of all places. We both love breakfast food, so it seemed like the perfect choice. We talked and laughed over pancakes and coffee, and before we knew it, hours had passed. We had such a great time that we decided to extend the day by just walking around Lenox Mall. It was a beautiful day, and we were both enjoying each other's company so much that we just didn't want it to end. Our next date was at La Fonda in Midtown, a Mexican restaurant that has since become one of our favorites. We talked about everything and anything over margaritas and queso, and from then on, we both knew we had something special. Neither of us would have guessed that we would meet our future partner online during a pandemic, but here we are four years later. I feel so lucky to have met Harrison. He's kind, funny, and always knows how to make me smile. Even though we've only been together for a short time, it feels like we've known each other forever. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.
After two and a half years of dating, Harrison and I had experienced a lot together. I had graduated from college, we had moved to a new apartment, and we had taken several trips together. Despite the ups and downs, our love had only grown stronger. One day, Harrison surprised me by gathering around 40 of our closest friends and family for a special event. As everyone gathered around us, Harrison got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was completely taken aback and overwhelmed with emotion. I said yes! We hugged tightly as our loved ones cheered and congratulated us. It was a beautiful moment that I will never forget. From that day forward, we began planning our future together. We dreamed of a life filled with love, adventure, and happiness. And now, as I look back on that special day, I am filled with gratitude for the amazing man who asked me to be his wife.
