GOOD NEWS! Our venue has officially lifted all capacity restrictions in regards to COVID-19 and we are cleared to proceed with our wedding as planned on November 6, 2021. We hope you can join us!
In light of COVID-19, among many venues that have discarded limitations in Florida, our venue continues to uphold very strict guidelines for social distancing including a maximum capacity that cuts our original guest list in half. We are hopeful things will change in the near future and we will still be able to celebrate with you all in November; however, we wanted to keep everyone informed. We will keep you posted with any updates here.
My grandfather met my grandmother at a charity fundraiser in the 1950s. When he would tell the story, he would say she was so hot she burned the building to the ground (the building burned down a week after the event). The building still stands where we met, but the same sentiment holds. We met at Boca Fiesta, where we had taken Kelcey’s sorority to dinner to try and impress them. We didn’t. Instead, it took a combination of Instagram prowess and killer dance moves to swoon her in the fall of 2016. Following a probationary period, she slid into my DMs in January 2017 and the rest was history. In more recent history, it was time to make her my betrothed. It was a Good Friday for everyone but Jesus on April 19, 2019 when I slipped a ring in an Easter egg. It wasn’t her dream ring because she can still see her hand when she’s wearing it, but it didn’t stop her from repeatedly OMG'ing without actually saying the word “yes." After some begging, we got there in the end.
If I had to summarize the first time I ever met Harrison it would be two words: Mutton. Chops. It wasn’t until several months later during our last fall semester when a less hairy Harry asked me to dance at a Trailer Park Throwdown social that our love ~blossomed~. A couple months pass of flirting, insta-stalking, inquiring about my relationship status to friends and yet still - no move had been made. So I did what I had to do. I slid into those DMs. (Shoutout to half my bridal party for the pep talk on that one). Our first date took place during the “storm of the century” and I knew he was the one when he asked me on a second despite the humidity. Fast forward three years and we were going for a standard big fat Italian dinner with Harrison’s family but something seemed off. The second Harrison handed me an Easter egg and I turned around to see both our families in the window smiling behind their iPhones - the jig was up. I of course said YES and we celebrated with a (you guessed it) big fat Italian dinner!
