San Francisco, CA. Two young adults using dating apps to meet people. Jenn messaged Nick first. Jenn then followed up repeatedly to lock in the first date. It was a great first date. It was a passionate second date. Nick met Jenn's sister on the third date, which was less than a week from the first date. Jenn kept giving Nick an out to leave and he didn't. We think she's stuck with him now.
Nick made it very clear that he wanted to move to a cool, affordable city, like Portland or Austin, in order to buy a house. Nick liked San Francisco, but there was no way he could ever afford a house there. Nick talked about this a lot. Jenn was on board with the idea from the beginning. Jenn preferred Portland over Austin, for sure. Nick's company decided to expand into the Pacific Northwest. After learning this, Nick told his CFO at a happy hour about his desire to move to Portland. The CFO loved the idea and the two began planning and plotting for a year or two. Nick and Jenn mentally prepared (mostly Jenn), then established May 2018 as the moving date. Then, it was May 2018 and they really had to do this! They flew up on Cinco de Mayo weekend, scoped out Nick's new office, toured apartments, picked one, and drank margaritas. They enjoyed an amazing Oregon summer and settled in. They obsessed over Redfin and devoted weekends to open houses, occasional hikes, and restaurant and brewery searches. They made an offer. It was accepted. They own a house. They love their new city and hope you will too!
