How do you pronounce “Pfau”?

Fun fact: Pfau is German for peacock. It’s pronounced like “fowl” just without the “L”. “F-ow”.

It's a zoo, do we get to see the animals?

Answer

Absolutely! We will have a zoo hour in between the ceremony and reception perfect for walking around! There are certain exhibits which will be open. Animals go to bed about 30 minutes before sunset. Please take advantage of this, we are members of the zoo and love hanging out here!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please dress how you will be comfortable for an outside wedding in June in Iowa. We want you to feel comfortable while looking your best!

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

At our wedding, we have made the decision not to serve alcohol. We understand that people have differing relationships with alcohol and weddings can be difficult for those who are struggling. We don't know where everyone is at in their journey, but we don't want to risk anyone to feel unwelcome or not come if they are working on protecting their sobriety! We want a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can celebrate. By opting not to include alcohol, we are prioritizing being a safe environment which we hope sets the tone for the family we are starting!
