May 19, 2019 Nathan and Hannah Kate met through a summer missionary program with S.D. Allen Ministries. They first met at Calvary Baptist Church at a meeting for a church-wide mission trip to Arlington, Texas. Hannah Kate and Nathan did not really interact much until after this trip when their boss, Jeff, paired them up to get donations for a block party. June 21, 2019 Hannah Kate called Nathan on their way to one of the many missionary hangouts because she discovered she had a flat tire. He came quickly and attempted to change the tire but she did not have the right tools. He ended up staying with her for three hours while waiting on someone to come fix the tire and ended up meeting her parents. June 29, 2019 Nathan asked Hannah Kate on a date. They went to Jim 'n Nicks for dinner and walked on the Riverwalk afterward. At the Riverwalk they sat and looked at the stars and reflection of light on the water. They talked about the beauty and vastness of God's creation. They then went to Nathan's house and watched funny videos, oh and a cockroach fell on her shoulder, but we won't get into that. July 20, 2019 After four dates, Nathan asked Hannah Kate to be his girlfriend, on her birthday. Hannah Kate likes to keep important days separate so they celebrate their first date as their official anniversary instead. Nathan also got her a bracelet from One Tree Hill, a favorite show they share in common. Nathan thought the gift was cheesy, but it is still Hannah Kate's favorite gift to this day. September 21, 2019 Nathan told Hannah Kate he loved her for the very first time, and she said it back! July 10, 2021 Nathan proposed to Hannah Kate at the same place it all began. He took her for a walk on the Riverwalk down to their spot, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend their lives together. She said YES! They then went to Jim n' Nicks for dinner and had a surprise engagement party afterward. It was the best day.
