A tiny little coffee shop, but also where we first met and where we got engaged. Everything is good here!
This is the park where it all began. Great for people and pet watching.
We went here on our second date, then on to dine in Transmitter Park. Very good vegan slices!
Want to see stellar New York skyline views? Head on over here for a perfect view any time of day
A classic for Polish food in Greenpoint. Added bonus, we went here for dinner after we got engaged!
Best doughnuts in the neighborhood, if not the city! Don't sleep on these!
Hannah's alma mater and part of Mike's neighborhood. Cute grounds to walk on, sculptures all over campus!
We went on our third date here to see The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Great for dinner and a show, either in house or downstairs in the basement with any one of the food vendors!
An amazing place for arts and culture! We recommend seeing films there, especially at BAM Rose Cinema
One of the best history museums in the area (according to Hannah), there's always interesting programming.
Love Modern Art? So does Hannah! Go here!
Mike's favorite art museum, and where Hannah interned at the Costume Institute. Pro Tip: It's easy to spend an entire day here if you're not careful. We recommend choosing a section to visit (e.g. Greek and Roman art, Furniture, the Costume Institute) and then go from there. Also, don't go hungry, the street vendors are massively overpriced.
An oft-forgotten museum, MCNY is a wonderful take on New York life. Added bonus, Central Park is right across the street!
A beautiful museum, and right under The Highline Park. Take a long afternoon and do both!
A hidden gem close to Hannah and Mike's neighborhood! Admission is free, and they have an amazing cityscape from the World's Fair. Pro Tip: Also spend some time in Flushing Meadows Park, especially on weekends. It's amazing.
Some of the best Indian food in the neighborhood, and super close to all train lines. Our favorite!
A block away from where Mike and Hannah live- this park is great for everyone. On Sundays they have a great farmer's market featuring food vendors as well as locally farmed produce, meats, cheeses, and breads. Come hungry!
Like a dosa? Go here! It's also all vegetarian
This Was Anthony Bourdain's favorite Tibetan place in Jackson Heights. We highly recommend it!
Some of the best Latin American street food in one convenient location- just a few stops from where we live! Read the NYT article to find your favorites: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/25/dining/queens-corona-plaza-food-vendors.html Bonus: Go to the Lemon Ice King of Corona after, it's only a 15 minute walk.
A bit off the beaten path, but a Must Visit. The lemon is a classic, but there are tons of flavors to choose from. Don't bother with a spoon, just fold and squeeze!
There's a little section of Elmhurst with some of the best Thai in the city. This place is our favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything on this street!
This is one of the oldest ice cream shops in New York, located across the street from a great little movie theater as well (Cinemart). Get a sundae after a show!
Like BBQ with a twist? You're going to love it here. Pro Bonus Tip: Come here on a Thursday at 7pm to run or walk with Hannah's favorite running team, Team WEPA! #wedoitforqueens
Forest Park is HUGE and has something for everyone. Dog park and picnic area? Say no more! Like walking on trails? Done! Want to see a carousel? We got it! Golf? Sure, okay! Hannah lived in Forest Hills and Kew Gardens for four years until moving to Jackson Heights. It's a great area and so much to see and do!
This place is incredible for independent film. We'd recommend taking a trip out, followed by dinner at Austin Ale House across the Street or Dani's Pizza nearby. Also easily accessible via the LIRR or MTA.
Hannah is a Mets fan, and Mike seems pretty okay with them too. Get a ticket and LGM!
Our favorite hot pot place in the city. Reservations recommended.
