While MXP is a bit further a way than the airport in Verona, it is on a 2.5 hour train ride from the Verona city center. This is a good option if you'd like to see another city or maybe this flight is less expensive or has less stops than others.

Transportation
If you fly into Milan Airport (MXP), you will take the train from Milan Airport (MXP) to Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale). Then, you will take the train from Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale) to Verona Puerto Nuova. From Verona Puerto Nuova, your direction depends on where you will be staying. The bus system is wide spread and should be able to take you very close to your final destination. For travel otherwise, here are our thoughts. Travel throughout the city center and between different city centers will definitely have trains linking the two locations. The bus system is also great for travel a little bit more off the beaten path. I love google maps, as it is really helpful in which buses, trains to take and different options. There is an option on google maps that allows you to see how to get from point A to point B by public transportation, so I recommend that you check this option out while planning your trip. We usually don't book our trains in advance, as there is normally availability, and you can buy your tickets at the station as well. In addition, there is a 'Trenitalia' app if you'd like to have a look or purchase train tickets in advance.

In terms of a rental car, it may vary what will serve your travels best. For our wedding ceremony, you will need a car in order to reach the location. For travel otherwise, there is public transportation, including trains and buses, that will take you many places.

This is a monestary just down the road from where we live. The rooms are quite basic, but it is a less expensive option if you want to be in a gorgeous area and close to us! Also, they have a communal kitchen that you can cook, but breakfast is included!
