The summer of 2011 was influential for many reasons, but perhaps none more important than that was the first time the lovely couple met. Both young and in transition from adolescence to adulthood the duo was inseparable from the moment they met. Hannah had just moved in from Lake Mills, Iowa to Northfield, MN. Fortunately for the groom, her parents elected to live in the house across the street. That summer was filled with typical teenage antics and shenanigans, but also was the start of something much bigger and more profound - the beginning of the rest of their lives together.
I woke up the day of our engagement having no idea that I would end the evening proposing to Hannah. I had spoken with the jeweler earlier and had arranged to pick up her ring the next morning and the plan was to propose the following day. Most people will tell you I'm not big on making plans so for me, this was about as extensive as it gets. Oddly enough I received a call that afternoon informing me that the ring was complete and ready to be picked up a day early. On my way to get her ring I realized that two things were true. One, I'm really bad at keeping secrets and two, I simply could not wait another 24 hours to propose. After running it by my good friends Justin and Sally, we concocted a plan. On the evening of November 4th, 2022 at approximately 7:30pm on the fabled Stone Arch Bridge I asked Hannah Grace Playter for her hand in marriage and since you're reading this story on this here website you can guess how that ended.
