We met on a popular dating site, after dropping (what he thinks is) the best pick-up line ever and me ignoring him for a day, we decided to go on a first date. He wanted to take me to a Steakhouse, I agreed although I was vegan at the time - after he realized, we quickly changed our destination. After a wonderful first date, we kept texting, calling, and seeing each other until he asked me to be his girlfriend at the last second before I went home for spring break. I said yes and embarked upon what seemed like the longest week of my life.
Andrew knew I wanted the proposal to be surrounded by my family. After moving to Ohio for work, we hosted an early Thanksgiving celebration and invited all of our family. I expected Andrew to propose on Christmas, but he knew that this gathering was the perfect opportunity. He took his mom into the other room, showed her the ring, and had a minor freak-out, followed by a pep-talk (Thanks, Mary!) before coming out to face me. I was playing with his niece at the time, and Mary created a diversion to get me in the center of the room. He went down and presented me with the ring, everything else is a blur. I have been told that I cried and said "No, no, no" before kissing and hugging him and accepting the ring. I apparently didn't even say yes until after the ring was on my finger. I have some lovely ugly-crying photos of myself from that day, with Andrew standing next to me with the biggest smile ever plastered across his face. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Laingsburg!
