Dan and Hannah initially met online and began conversing in September of 2015. They have Plenty of Fish to thank for bringing them together. Dan and Hannah's first date was on September 29, 2015 at Cold Stone Creamery in Midtown Omaha.

Hannah graduated from college in May 2017 and moved to Kansas City, Kansas for a job at the University of Kansas Hospital. Dan stayed in Bellevue, Nebraska at Offutt Air Force Base. The couple made the long distance (184 miles) work by visiting each other on the weekends whenever possible. After living in different cities for 21 months, Hannah got a job in Omaha, Nebraska and moved back.

Hannah had found a job in Omaha and was preparing to move back to start in early March. On Saturday, February 16, 2019 Dan made a delicious dinner at his house that consisted of rosemary infused rib-eye steak with cheesy broccoli. After dinner, Dan asked Hannah to marry him. She said Yes!
