On June 3, 2018 we "matched" on a dating app named Bumble and that is where it all began. Two weeks later, on June 16th, we met in person for the first time. From the moment we had our first date, we both knew that this was something special. During our first date we kept looking at each other and all we could say is "this feels so right". It's like we had known each other for our whole lives. We saw a movie, ate some CFA ice cream, then he treated me to a dinner at Outback. On our second date, Marcus met my parents and I met his shortly thereafter. We then continued to grow our relationship over FaceTime because at the time Marcus lived in Buford and I lived in Newnan. Everything moved so fast but it just felt like it was the way it was supposed to be. We have enjoyed many memories together so far and we cannot wait to see what God has in store for us in the future. We both, whole heartedly agree, that we are the person that we have each prayed for and that God intended us to be with.
August 29, 2019 Marcus, myself, my parents, brother and sister in law were headed to Orlando for a cruise to the Bahamas. At the start of our trip we had been tracking Hurricane Dorian that was projected to trail near the Bahamas and ultimately Orlando area. We landed in Orlando early that morning and explored Disney Springs and other places that Orlando has to offer. We eventually made the drive to Port Canaveral where would spend the night in preparation for getting on the boat Friday morning. However, at dinner on Thursday night, Royal Caribbean made significant changes to our cruise itinerary which was to stay out at sea for 2-3 days more than we planned. While that sounded so fun and awesome, we all had jobs that we had to return home too. So, as a family we decided to take the refund and spend the weekend in Orlando before traveling back home. On Friday, August 30th some strings were pulled and we were able to stay at the Rosenshingle Resort in Orlando. This place was beautiful! We decided to put on our formal clothes that we had for the cruise and go to a nice dinner at the resort for mine and my brothers birthday dinner. So we spent a couple of hours getting ready and headed downstairs to the main lobby and outside fountain to take pictures with the beautiful sunset. After the family pictures were made is when Marcus made me turn around and there he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I honestly could not tell you everything he told me because it happened to fast but what I do remember is just saying YES! Then I was shown that family members where on FaceTime and were able to see the whole thing happen. It was such an exciting time in a magical place! So, come to find out, the proposal was supposed to happen on the cruise in the Bahamas. Marcus and my family were scrambling last minute to find a new "idea" after we decided to not get on the cruise ship. Everything happened just the way it was supposed to and it was the best night ever!
