How’d we meet? We worked together at Subaru and met on April 8th, 2017. I was very quiet and wouldn’t talk to anybody at work, but that didn’t stop Ava from having something to say to me almost daily. She would do anything she could to talk to me. She'd stop other people from helping me at work just so she could help me. She would make sure that she assisted me with everything I needed for my job and at that time, I was only working on the weekend; but then I began working during the week, and us working together increased because then we were paired to work together by our supervisor. From that point on we worked side by side. I would watch her secretly when she wasn’t looking and when I wasn't around her I began thinking about her more and more. Especially thinking about how fine she is. We would have a lot of conversations during work and Ava would ask me to come hang out with her outside of work and I would always say no. But she would always brag about it being only one place in Lafayette, that has the best chicken called Mom’s place. “Next door to her apartment” She’d ask me over to get some chicken and I said no. Then one day I told her that if she got the chicken I'd come get it, and she did. And I went 😊 we ate the chicken and talked and from that point on, we’ve been together. We started spending more time together outside of work and I eventually introduced her to my kids and my family. And everything felt so natural. The kids loved her, my Mother and other family members and my friends loved her and I love her. The 1st time Ava asked me to marry her, I said No! never. But then after a while, we spent more time together. Then she asked me to marry her again and I said hmmm – I might. But I guess the third times a charm. On Thanksgiving Day, she asked me again and that time I said yes!
