Hannah and David met in East Lansing while attending Michigan State University. They share a common "die-hard" love for Sparty and are forever grateful for the school on the banks of the Red Cedar that brought them together.

It seemed necessary Hannah and David make their promise at the place where it all began. In early 2023, David planned a faux-reunion for his fraternity in East Lansing. Of course, the reunion was a cover up for a surprise engagement executed with the help of Jonah Taykowski (best man) and his wife Polly. David asked Hannah to spend forever at the Bell Tower of East Lansing.
