In February 2019, their love story started by chance. They both were in search of something, enjoying the company of their friends & were in for something special without even knowing it. One night they mutually decided to join Tinder. Yes, the hookup dating site! Katia was unaware of that fact, but her friend’s peer pressured her into giving it a shot. Amefika, under curiosity of his own, decided to take a gamble to see what would happen. Katia doesn’t remember swiping right on her future husband’s profile, possibly one of her friends did lol but whatever the case may be, it led them together. After a few short conversations on the app & a few long ones by phone, they noticed that they shared common interests, backgrounds, & experiences. After only a week, it was decided that they meet. The fateful night they met was at the end of February 2019, on a whim at Academy Sports Outdoors. A few days later, they enjoyed their first date to Mellow Mushroom, walked the beautiful downtown streets of Montgomery, AL & they've been together like winter & a sweater ever since! On a family trip, they got engaged on Dec 13, 2022, on the Carnival cruise ship Sunrise.
