FAQs

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your kids, we ask that you not bring them to the wedding ceremony and reception. However, we'd be happy to have your children join us for our welcome party on Friday. If you decide to visit Sea Island as a family we can help arrange babysitters for Saturday evening.

Question

What is the COVID-19 protocol?

Answer

The health and safety of our guests is a top priority for us. With that in mind, we require that all wedding guests be fully "up to date" on COVID-19 vaccinations. CDC guidelines define up to date as three doses of Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccines. If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you should receive a second dose, preferably of Moderna or Pfizer, to be considered up to date. Proof of vaccination will be required for entry to the welcome party and wedding ceremony/reception. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update our policy as needed. We appreciate everyone's cooperation as we take steps to keep all of our guests safe.

Question

Will there be transportation to the weekend events?

Answer

Yes! We will be providing transportation to the welcome party and wedding ceremony and reception. Shuttles will be running from lobbies at The Cloister, The Inn, and Sea Palms Resort. We will also have a shuttle running to a mutually convenient location for those staying in the Sea Island Cottages. If you plan to stay somewhere we don't currently have transportation planned, please be sure to indicate the address on your RSVP card - if there is sufficient demand we will have a shuttle running to those additional properties. We will continuously update the "Getting There & Accommodations" tab with more details as we get closer to April.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

The easiest way to get from either of the closest airports (Savannah & Jacksonville) is via rental car. However, the need for a car while onsite depends on where you are staying. If you stay at Sea Palms or any property off of Sea Island (or not affiliated with the resort), it is best to have a car onsite so you can easily get around Saint Simons Island. If you stay at The Inn (located on Saint Simons), it's best to have a car onsite so you can easily get around Saint Simons Island. You can, however, utilize the Sea Island shuttle if you don't mind depending on their schedules. If you stay at The Cloister or Sea Island cottages you most likely do not need a car while onsite. The majority of activities and amenities are within walking, biking or golf-carting distance. Please note, golf at The Retreat Course is the only event that is driving distance from all accommodations.

Question

Can I drive myself to the weekend events?

Answer

Yes, you can drive yourself to our events if you'd prefer. There is parking at both Rainbow Island and Musgrove (Musgrove offers complimentary valet services).

Question

Do I need to rent a golf cart or bikes?

Answer

If you're staying in one of the Sea Island cottages we highly recommend renting a golf cart and/or bikes. It's the best way to get to all of The Cloister amenities. For golf carts, we suggest using Island Carts or High Tide Carts. For bikes, reach out to Island Bicycle. Please note The Inn offers complimentary bikes.
