Haley was a frequent customer of Justin's while he was a barista at Starbucks. After years of having a secret crush on him, they finally began their adventure together in December 2015. It started with a cold night at the Downtown Phoenix art walk, an ice skating date, seeing the Nutcracker and a first kiss in her PT Cruiser to Hilary Duff's Christmas Album.

Justin and Haley took a winter trip together to New York City during Christmas time. After a long travel day and being scared to death by the erratic driving of the Super Shuttle, they finally made it to their hotel next to Central Park only minutes before sunset. Justin told Haley to quickly get ready, as he wanted to take a stroll through the park and see the city skyline at sunset. They stood atop a big rock overlooking a lake and all the city lights turned on just as the sun was setting. Little did Haley know that Justin was planning on popping the question. She said yes.
