For the Wedding of

Edward and I lived in the same neighborhood and lived exactly 1.9 miles away from one another. We went to the same high school all 4 years. Freshman year of college we were both in College Station, TX and we even had some mutual friends, but we never crossed paths other than following one another on Instagram. I went off to the University of Tennessee 922 miles away as it was always a dream of mine to attend my parents and grandparents alma mater. On New Years Day 2019 Edward posted on his Instagram story a funny picture and the caption saying “Happy New Year, say it back”, so I said it back and thought nothing of it. He eventually messaged back and began a conversation and we continued to message from there almost every day for 2 years as friends. This was until one day I got a call from him. He called me and told me a story about how he was almost hit by a car that ran through an intersection and so he called me to ask me to go on a date. We went on our first date and went to a museum and then had dinner where we stayed there an hour after closing. The manager finally came up to us and said, “we did not have the heart to ruin your date, but we closed an hour ago and turned off the music and even shut the lights off and you both just never noticed, but we have to close now.” We both knew then that this was going to be our last first date. We have now been together for 3 years living 600+ miles apart the entire time, made 80 flights collectively, and have made the most of every minute together. As we close the gap and begin this new chapter we look back and see the sweet timing that God has provided for each chapter in our lives to bring us together for this. We cannot wait to celebrate this moment in our lives with you. Celebrate accordingly.
