I was completely surprised when Chris proposed! We were meeting our friends on a Friday after work for Happy Hour, and Chris told me that he had to work late. I was hanging out with our friends and Chris had told me he was done with work and asked if I would come meet at our house. I went to go meet him at our house and when I pulled in I noticed that a bouquet of roses was sitting at our door. At first I thought someone had delivered me flowers and he forgot to bring them inside! HA! I got out of the car and opened the door and saw rose petals everywhere! In the background, he had the movie soundtrack from La La Land (our very first date) playing. There was a huge bouquet of red roses in our living room and I looked at a note that said turn around! There was Chris down on one knee and he said Haley Christine Hernandez I love you so much, will you marry me? I was so ecstatic, I am not even sure I actually said yes! Afterwards, I realized all of my friends were in on it and my family was waiting to see us! The Proposal was so romantic and a memory I will never forget!

After we got engaged, Chris and I knew we wanted to get married in Pensacola. My parents and my sister have all gotten married in Pensacola and we wanted to carry on the tradition! We started searching venues and eventually found 5eleven Palafox. We fell in love with the venue because of its modern touches with elements of downtown. We didn’t realize until after we booked, that the venue is a historical site and used to be the world famous Navy bar, Trader Jon’s. This is where my parents met and started their love story. We were so moved and we know this was meant to be.
