Charles and I first met during freshman orientation at New York University in 2013. I used to think that we met by chance but 7 years later I know without a doubt that the universe put him in front of me because we were meant to spend our lives together. He has filled my life with joy and has given me a sense of peace that I have never known. There are an infinite number of things to love about Charles. His thoughtfulness and loyalty to his family and friends, his caring nature and generosity towards others, and his optimistic outlook on almost everything. More importantly, I love his ability to stay grounded while being an Instagram influencer (iykyk), how he gets weirdly excited about chicken tenders and moving to Mars, the way his lips pout when he’s all focused, the way his toes dance when he’s all happy, and the way his eyes sparkle when he sees gelato. I’m grateful for his and our special brand of weirdness. I feel so lucky to have found my person who makes me look forward to growing old and grey. We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day with all of our favorite people and start the rest of our lives.
Basically what she said ;) What struck me the most when I started to get to know Haley is that she constantly exudes an air of well put-together poise, everywhere, and all the time. This realization came long after I first laid my eyes on her, but even at that time, I could just tell she was something special. She is multi-faceted, but consistent to her core. She is drop dead gorgeous, but you never get the sense that she feels the need to flaunt. She’s warm, spirited and a wonderful host when entertaining friends, while driven and focused when working towards her career goals. She’s so open-minded that I feel comfortable discussing my weirdest hobbies or deepest insecurities with her. I proposed to her in January of 2021, after dating her for 6 years. When I realized I get to spend the rest of my life with her, my first thought is “why would she do that,” then followed by what I can only describe as the most triumphant sensation in the world. I imagine it’s akin to what Neil Armstrong felt when he landed on the moon, as the odds are probably similar. In all seriousness, I am both ecstatic and honored to celebrate this special occasion with my family, my friends, and my beautiful bride - my love, my soul mate, and my best friend.
