It started as what I thought was just a casual surprise date. Turns out it was way more than that. As we approached downtown I kept telling him “I know it’s a griffins game!” We then went to the heart of downtown right past Van Andel Arena. We got out of the car and began to walk around a bit. It was quite cold considering it was the month of November, so I wanted a coffee from Biggby. He of course said okay and we walked into the coffee shop. There was a long line and Dylan was starting to get antsy, I thought it was odd as that’s not like him. Turns out we were almost late to our carriage ride! He managed to talk me out of it in order to make it to our “date” on time. As we walked down the street a little further I saw a beautiful white horse. He smiled and said “wanna go for a ride?” After a chilly yet beautiful ride through downtown along the Grand River and through the heart of downtown, we turned the corner to return back to where we started. I remember seeing a crowd of people and thinking to myself, hmmm... that’s weird! As we got closer I realized it was our family holding red roses. It was that moment I realized what was happening. I looked at Dylan, crying of course, and said “what is happening!” I buried my head in his arms and prepared myself for the best night of my life. We got off the carriage ride, he proposed, and our friends and family all handed me their roses. I remember my three year old nephew asking Dylan “why is auntie crying?” That moment is what brought us all here today. The Wedding day!
