We met in the summer of 2021. From April-June we crossed paths a couple of times but it wasn't until a golf outing in June that we had a conversation. During this golf outing Hailey could not stop following Jake in her golf cart and actually ran into a tree while trying to track him down. After the golfing was done there was a get together at a restaurant where we were able to talk and get to know each other more. After this we were constantly on each others minds and started to talk more and more. The rest is history!
Las Vegas was always a topic of conversation when we talked about marriage as it seemed to be a fun and different way to commit our love to each other. When the maid of honor, Lexi, needed someone to come to Arizona and help her make the drive back to Wisconsin we did not hesitate to help a friend and make a trip out of it. While we were sitting at the gate of our flight we started to talk about how Las Vegas was very close to Arizona and we could stop there to get married before coming back to Wisconsin. We booked the ceremony spot that second and decided to keep it a secret from our friends and family until afterwards. Our flight ended up getting delayed until the next day so Jake talked the airline employees into getting us a free hotel downtown Madison. It was there at the hotel, after the ceremony was already booked, that Jake got down on one knee and asked Hailey to marry him. We hugged and kissed and it felt like a dream. The next day we ended up flying into Las Vegas because of other airline issues and Lexi met us at the airport. The next few hours were a rush to check into the hotel, try and look like we didn't just jump between airports for the last 24 hours, buy Hailey's dress and shoes in the hotel store, buy Jake's shirt in another hotel store, and grab the most expensive drinks to ever exist and rush to the ceremony place. After our ceremony we spent the rest of the night in Fremont listening to live music and dancing. The next morning we woke up and made the 36 hour drive back to Wisconsin. It was such a fun night of love and we wouldn't trade it for the world.
