We just so happened to be taking the same class over the summer of 2018 at NC State University (Go Pack!). We had a couple mutual acquaintances in our class that we formed a study group with so we could survive the fast paced engineering class we had signed up for. None of us had too many good friends in town that summer so our little study group quickly became a group of best friends that hung out almost every day! By the beginning of our fall semester of that year, it was obvious we had feelings for each other. I (Hadley) asked Wyatt to be my boyfriend and he replied with “I thought I already was.” Over the next four years and eight months, our love did nothing but grow. We found joy in cooking together, going on little adventures, playing games, and doing puzzles. Really, any activity is just better when we’re doing it together. More than a year of our relationship was spent apart, some due to COVID and Hadley staying with her family in Statesville during lockdown, while Wyatt stayed in Raleigh. The other part was due to Wyatt landing his first job in Charlotte, while Hadley’s was in Raleigh. We made the best of our time apart by visiting often and finding games we could play online, together and with our friends. Thankfully, Wyatt was able to find a job in Raleigh and move back home. In March of 2023, we brought home our sweet little pup, Suki. We both agree she has been an amazing addition to our little family and we don’t know what we’d do without her! We are so, so excited and can’t wait for you to celebrate our love with us!!

May, 28 2023 started out like any other Sunday date. Wyatt took Hadley to the North Carolina Museum of Art to walk around their beautiful grounds and enjoy the works of art in their gallery. Hadley thought they were going to brunch afterwards, but Wyatt made a stop at North Carolina Sate University’s Centennial Campus to take a walk down memory lane. Once they passed through the grand arch of Engineering Building II, the building in which Wyatt and Hadley first met, Wyatt turned to Hadley and got down on one knee. He told Hadley how much he loved her as he pulled out the most beautiful ring that he had custom made. Wyatt then asked Hadley to marry him and she said yes before he could finish the question. Wyatt had planned for a photographer to be hiding nearby to capture the moment, and do an engagement shoot after the proposal. They had so much fun taking their first photos as fiancés. There were lots of smiles and laughs, and hugs and kisses. After the shoot was over, Wyatt took Hadley to brunch where both of their families were waiting to surprise her. There were so many happy tears and it was the best day!
