Back in 2009, Nicole and Gus met as freshmen in high school. Thanks to some mutual friends, they were introduced early on and quickly connected. By December, Gus asked Nicole to be his girlfriend and their relationship has blossomed ever since. They've been through it all together. From prom to graduation, to college & long distance, to reuniting at OU, moving in together, getting a dog, and buying a home. Now, they're ready to start the next chapter.

Gus proposed on March 6th, 2022 in Sarasota, Florida. With pandemic restrictions lifted, they were finally able to take a vacation with Nicole's family. On the second night of the trip, during a family photoshoot, Gus got down on one knee. Followed by the best sunset of the week, the day couldn't have been more perfect.
