We will be eloping in June alongside our immediate family and friends. BUT we also think it is important to celebrate our new adventure into marriage with those that have loved and supported us. So what better way to do that than a BIG party to celebrate it all. Expect an evening of food, music, yard games and awkward but enthusiastic dancing. We can't wait!
Since moving to Bend we have made it a tradition to spend a weekend in June camping at Little Lava Lake in the Cascade Range. We piled all of our camping gear (& Otto) into a canoe and paddled across the lake to a secluded camp site along the lake's shore. We spent the weekend fishing, swimming, and relaxing. On the last day, we were both up early enjoying the stillness of the morning. Gus's plan was to pop the question after breakfast, but with the amount of swarming mosquitos, I had opted to skip breakfast and start packing up our site. Gus, now feeling a sense of urgency, started rummaging through his backpack trying to find the ring box. I had my back turned, enjoying the last views of the lake, but couldn't help but notice the sudden silence. I turned around to find Gus on one knee with a wooden ring box, holding the most beautiful ring. I honestly don't remember exactly what he said, it was all a blur, but I did hear those four sweet words, "will you marry me?".
