It started as a seemingly "normal day" on the Metro North—June 6th 2018. The usual suspects piled into the already packed train cars gripping their morning coffee, local newspaper or whatever shred of sanity they had left. Dana and Luke are seated diagonally from each other when a rather unusual individual asks to sit next to Dana. We use the term "rather unusual" in the sense that he was "not a regular" due to his too-cool-for-school attitude, electric blue sunglasses, and fiery red hair. Now, is it right to judge the dude by his looks? No. But you can bet Dana sure did when, let's call him "Dude," whips out what looks to be the top of a guitar, which Luke and Dana later come to find out is called a "Jamstick." Google it. The dude is rocking out on his Jamstick, annoying anyone within an 8-foot radius, and doing everything in his power to aggravate Dana. He's Elbowing, nudging, existing, all while Luke sits back and enjoys the show. As if Dude wasn't acting strange enough, he starts taking selfies of himself playing the Jamstick, sticking the camera in front of Dana, trying to get "his best angle." Clearly, his selfies weren't up to par as he then asked the young lady seated across from him to take his picture. At this point, Dana was just looking for the video cameras. Was she being punk'd? The train finally reaches Grand Central, where Dude exits, never to be seen again. Luke and Dana, on the other hand, made exaggerated eye contact acknowledging the "crazy" they just experienced. Their first words to each other: Dana: "I don't know if I could have rolled my eyes any harder..." Luke: "Yeah, I'm surprised they're still in your head!" Dana, who had her cell phone in her right hand, extended her left, "I'm Dana." Luke thinks to himself, 'who shakes with their left hand?'..."I'm Luke". From that day forward, Luke was known to Dana's friends and family as "the kid on the train." Days went by and whenever Luke and Dana saw one another, they made sure to be in each other's company—keeping their same seats on the train. Eventually Luke asked for Dana's number to which she gladly gave, saving his number under the name "Luke Train Buddy" (the name that he's still saved in her phone as to this day). Some shopping trips, late-night chats, and a dinner later, they called it "official" and the rest was history! #NextStopWeibrecht
