South Padre Island
If you plan on staying longer, we definitely recommend South Padre Island. Only about an hour drive from Edinburg!
Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge
If you feel like exploring nature a bit, we recommend Santa Ana National Wildlife refuge. It is a 2,088-acre refuge with more than 12 miles of wildlife watching and nature trails, a nature tram that provides tours through the park, a canopy walk, and tree tower. You can find 400 bird species, 450 types of plants and approximately half of all North American butterfly species residing in this refuge.
Quinta Mazatlan
A historical Adobe mansion known for it's birds, plants, and environmental stewardship. It is a sanctuary filled with history, beauty, and wonder of our natural world. They offer tours as well as different activities to participate in like bird-watching, nature journaling, etc. Check their website for more info.

Always a fun time at Topgolf. We definitely recommend it!
La Plaza Mall
If you're looking to shop while you're in town, McAllen has an amazing mall with a wide variety of places to shop at. It was recently upgraded and got an addition of new restaurants as well.
Walk-On's Bistreaux and Bar
This restaurant just recently opened in Edinburg and we love it! Ice cold beer and yummy food, what more could you want?
New York Deli
This is one of our favorite local restaurants. Their sandwiches and burgers are delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you like The Beatles, then I think you'll like it here. It is completely decorated with Beatles memorabilia.
17th Street Entertainment District

Big River Brewery
Local microbrewery. Their beers are delicious and their brewery is definitely a fun, chill place to have some beer with friends and play some games. We recommend trying their blonde ale called "Chacha"
Grain to Glass
A local bar in McAllen that serves a variety of craft beer and yummy food.
