Gretchen and Hans's story began in August 2015 on the sixth floor of the Raney House dorm at The Ohio State University. Throughout the year, they created amazing memories with the other members of their floor and became good friends! Over the summer, their friendship continued to grow as Gretchen provided the finishing artwork for Hans's first iOS app. On October 2, 2016, Hans and Gretchen officially started dating. They have been there for each other as best friends and partners through it all: supporting one another through their degrees, traveling to amazing places (including a 4 month road trip across the country), celebrating all of life's moments with their family and friends, purchasing and renovating their first home, and much more! Six years later, Hans surprised Gretchen and proposed in Great Smoky Mountain National Park on October 6, 2022. Using his engineering skills, Hans spent months designing and CAD modeling Gretchen's engagement ring. Be sure to ask them to see it! Gretchen and Hans are incredibly grateful to both their families for the immense outpouring of love, support, and acceptance they felt from Day 1 of their relationship. They are very excited to "officially" blend two amazing families together through their marriage! They cannot wait to celebrate the next chapter of their love story with all their favorite people!
