Hello and thank you for visiting our wedding website! Please be sure to click on the different tabs across the top of the page (if on a computer) or click on the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner (if on your phone) for all the details about our big day. You'll find info on our registry, the hotel block we have reserved, and you can even RSVP right from this site!
One of the things we have in common that has helped shape our lives is that we would never settle for less than we deserved. The fact that we're both well into our thirties and never married has proven that! 2020 was a year that literally rocked the world, so what in the world made us think to try online dating for the umteenth time? It's obvious now it was all God's plan for us, and we are so thankful we never settled! May tenth (2020), Gretchen (G) swiped right on Brandon (B) , who had already swiped right on her. After reading through his profile and liking the photos she saw, she decided to comment on the sushi. "One good thing with me is you will never have to share your sushi!" That was the line that did it! We have literally talked every day since that day and cannot imagine a world without each other. (Side note, G never has to share her wine or brownies with B. Best. Match. Ever.) Our first date was via Zoom, as G was trying to be as COVID-conscientious as possible. We were both instantly hooked by the other's smile (as in, legit butterflies on G's end) and the three hour (!) conversation was fun and easy. The first "real" date was at a park, with a football catch and frisbee toss. What better way to maintain 6' distance?! G was impressed by the car B pulled up in and B was impressed G could actually throw a football haha. Needless to say, the 6' distance didn't last long with hugs goodbye :) By October we moved in together into B's house in Pine Hill. Not even a month after G finished unpacking, we found our forever home.
While it is true that we've been wedding planning since December of last year (from when we had to put in our vacation time for 2021), the proposal came on the one year anniversary that we connected. Monday, May tenth (2021), Brandon took Gretchen back to the park where we had our first date. We recreated it as best we could with a football catch, some snacks on a blanket, great conversation, and a frisbee toss. One of the tosses from G went high and B jumped up to get it. He came down awkwardly and G thought he hurt himself. So, she jogged up to him to make sure he was OK and then stopped dead in her tracks as he was on one knee and had the ring in his hand. "Gretchen Flack, this year has been the best year of my life. I'd like to spend many more like it together. Will you marry me?" Of course G said yes!
We both know a LOT of people and have had so many bless us throughout the years. After just buying our home in January, we decided on a small, intimate wedding. While we wish we could invite you all, we are excited to offer a Zoom link for a chance to tune in virtually for the ceremony. Some of you have already planned watch parties and that makes us so happy!! So if you're invitation has a link on in rather than a physical address, thank you in advance for understanding and we love you all! We cannot wait to become husband and wife and look forward to celebrating our wedding ceremony in our backyard on October ninth (2021) with everyone - be it in person or virtually!
