Maid of Honor
Abby and I met ten years ago thanks to a program at GW called VIP. We bonded over giving tours, theme parties, and getting really into the 2008 Olympics. Since then we've had some great adventures including lazy beach days in Costa Rica and sampling the best Italian Ice in New Jersey. We both eventually made our way back to DC and finally shared a roof, where our dream of a joint super-closet came true. When she’s not helping me wedding plan, Abby can be found kicking butt on the soccer field, cooking delicious soup, and consulting for important people across DC.
Best Man
Dan "The Man" Cairnes and I first met in pre-school and have been friends ever since even though he is a Florida State graduate. Ever since that fateful pre-school day, we've been close. Over the years, we've gotten into our fair share of adventures from causing shenanigans in his neighborhood to attending the UF/FSU football games to shredding the slopes in Colorado. Dan is someone who can turn any situation into a joke no matter how serious. Dan recently got married and lives in Palm Beach working for NextEra Energy passing gas (natural gas).
Bridesman
Spencer and I met as freshmen at GW, brought together by our love for Democrats. Spencer too spent the summer of 2008 as a VIP and we’ve been pals ever since. One of our best memories was an across the country road-trip in his A/C-less, no power-steering Geo that included some great pictures at the Clinton Library and a lot of hummus. We later were roommates in DC and will always share a deep love for mac and cheese. He's now saving the world in Seattle and renovating what might be the cutest cabin ever.
Groomsman
Dr. Steven "Don't ask me to fix your computer" Feldman is the middle brother. Steven who has a PhD in Computer Science is definitely the tech savvy one in the family. My favorite memories with him are camping during our family trips. Growing up, Steven always (most of the time rightfully so) made sure my ego remained in check. Any Doctor Who fans in attendance should discuss with Steven his thoughts on the latest doctor. Currently, Steven lives in San Francisco with his wife and two dogs where he works at Google helping the computers take over the world.
Bridesmaid
Marci and I met at GW as two fiery College Democrats. After a trip to Kentucky to campaign, which included sleeping on the floor, and not showering for four days, our friendship was sealed in the stars. Our adventures continued in Costa Rica and on a fateful road trip in California. Nowadays, outside of drinking Malbec with me and playing with her adorable son, Alex, Marci can be found representing tech companies as their high-powered attorney. And sharing my deep, enduring love for JCrew.
Groomsman
Robert Cody "Bobby Hill" Feldman is my youngest brother and the "country" one of the family. While he goes by Robert, I always call him by his middle name Cody. Cody is adventurous and loves his outdoor toys. Rumor has it the only reason he worked at Gander Mountain was for the hunting supplies discount. Growing up Cody was the one who always stole my clothes so I now I steal his outdoor toys. These days Cody is living out in Okeechobee, FL working as a sheriff for Okeechobee County protecting and serving. He will be enforcing the law at the wedding.
Bridesmaid
Though we technically met in a Freshman politics class, VIP is what really brought Emily and I together at GW. A summer of theme parties, Sundays by the pool, matching polos, and the Sex and the City movie cemented our friendship. Emily is always the friend I can count on to know who's in the running for Best Actor and to discuss Mindy Kaling's career. She also makes a mean caramel cookie. Her passion in life outside entertainment news is helping kids, which she does every day as a school social worker in DC.
Groomsman
John "Left Coast Best Coast" Fata, one half of the Palm City duo, and I first met in high school freshman year. John had curls that you would not believe. John and I became friends when Dan and I took pity on the Palm City duo and allowed them to be our friends. John and I both attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where we bonded over playing golf, fake working at Rec Sports, and drinking cheap beer in Midtown. If you are looking for a smug person to explain the virtues of craft beer and why Budweiser is the worst he is your man. John currently lives in San Diego with his wife Missy raising their son, Colby.
Bridesmaid
Kirsten and I met in 9th grade science class. We quickly bonded over the...uniqueness of our classmates. After four years of Sparrow trips, Homecomings, and beach days, we went off to college, taking turns visiting each other and always returning to the Sparrow. While people say my hair is full of secrets, Kirsten is often my source because there's no answer she can't find. Fittingly, she is currently crushing it as a research librarian in Boston. She can also be found reading every book published, decorating her new home, and porch drinking.
Groomsman
Ryan "Gopher" Spencer is the other half of the Palm City duo and also attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!). Ryan and I became friends much in the same way that John and I did. What grew our friendship over the years is our adventures (i.e. Gasparilla and Dallas) and our shenanigans when we camped on The Island. Our scars are a testament to our friendship. If you are looking for someone to lead you astray down a path less traveled after the wedding ceremony, he is your man. These days Ryan is buzzing around Charlotte being Mr. Corporate.
Bridesmaid
It's hard to pinpoint exactly when Katie and I met, but needless to say it was at Brewster Elementary School. Over the probably almost 20 (!!) years we've been friends, we've bonded over beach days with punch, an unwavering love of JCrew, and Katie's famous cookie swaps. Katie is the friend that travels to faraway lands to spend your birthday with you, and also alerts you when there's a lipstick with your name. Katie can now be found combining her love of fashion and creating, as a visual designer in Boston.
Groomsman
Christian Tupper (you can call him Tup) and I met back in high school. Tup was that guy in high school who was a friend to everyone and could get any party rocking. Like John, Tup had curly hair like I have never seen on a guy to date. Some of my best high school memories with Tup are our times at the beach and boat spearfishing and getting sunburnt. When you see Tup ask him what Sisu means and to teach you some Finnish words. These days Tup is living in South Florida fixing old ladies' toilets and working on his plumber's crack
Bridesmaid
Susanne and I officially met in freshman honors English class. We didn't really become friends though until later in high school thanks to Kirsten and a fateful homecoming dance. After too many nights at the Sparrow and some great birthday parties, and a really awesome bat bar, our friendship was cemented. Since then we've made Christmas costumes, bonded over broccoli tacos, and seen some Long movies. Always the creative one, Susanne is now an illustrator living in Brooklyn and in her free time, she runs some pretty amazing Instagram accounts.
Groomsman
Jeremy Stone affectionately known as "J Stone" and I met during our first year in our grad program. When I first saw J Stone, I said to myself that is a man I want to be friends with. Throughout our grad program and after, our friendship grew over trying out new restaurants, discussing current affairs, and being blizzard buddies. Anyone with any questions about proper laundry procedure talk with J Stone, he is known as an expert launder in these parts. Lately J Stone has been crushing it in Washington DC advising companies on the latest and greatest employee benefit programs.
Groomsman
Alex "I have a whiskey collecting problem" Hilliker is my other fellow DC compatriot. Like Jeremy, Alex and I met during our first year of grad school. Alex is passionate about all things Pittsburgh and the University of Michigan. Our friendship is more than just drinking fine whiskeys together (which is great), it also involves going to Nats games, taking hikes, and just shooting the breeze. Anyone who has any questions about what it is like to be an adult, talk with Alex, he aged from 27 to 40 in one year. You can find Alex traveling the country supporting our troops by helping to plan next year's Warrior Games.
