"I'd go a long way for a Nu-Way". Nu-Way is THE staple in Macon. Doesn't get much more local than this and it's Greta's all-time favorite and Oprah approved ;) Stop by for their infamous chili cheese dog or a burger. You've come a long way...you absolutely NEED a Nu-Way.
Starting with dough made fresh in house every day, this hand-tossed, Macon-style (medium-thickness with heavy toppings) pizza is beloved by the locals. Not in the mood for pizza? They have many other options, including the worlds best garlic knots (by Brandon and Greta's standards). Make sure to order them "extra sloppy" to get extra garlic and butter...you won't be disappointed.
Macon is rich in music history. From Capricorn records to James Brown to the Allman Brothers band. We would be amiss to not direct you to at least one site to take it in. This home was where the "members of The Allman Brothers Band, their roadies, friends, and families lived until 1973. It was the focal point of gathering in those early years when the magic is The Allman Brothers Band was just taking shape and radiating from this historic Southern town". This is for lovers of the classics. Various members of the band are also buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon.
