We had met through a mutual friend our freshman year, and we were friendly with each other. Things didn't really get serious until the beginning of October our junior year, when Steph slid into Greg's DM's. Greg was at a Boston Red Sox game (ironic?), while Steph was hanging out with her friends. We messaged back and forth late into the night. In fact, it was so late that Greg's phone battery was at 1% and Steph's social battery was at 1%. We texted back and forth for the next few days, and set up our first date at Colony Grill where we shared a salad pizza (now we each get our own). We continued to go hang out as our friend groups got closer and go on a few more dates before we became "official". Here we are 7 years later, making it "official"- for real.
It was a warm August afternoon. Greg had arranged for us to meet up with his friend for drinks at Trillium in the Seaport District of Boston. Everything was falling into place, Greg had even gotten Steph to wear a sundress and leave her wallet in the car. She had no idea. Leading up to that day, Greg had arranged for a photographer to be waiting at the predetermined location. After getting to the parking deck, our friend texted us saying he was "running late". So what better way to pass the time than to go take a walk along the water. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, as to be expected on such a nice day in Boston. While we were "wandering", we came to a pier and after a little convincing, decided to check it out. Steph still had no idea. We walked from one end of the pier to the other, where there was a lone sunflower waiting for us. After that, it was a bit of a blur for both of us. Greg started a story about when he first knew Steph was the one and ended up on his knee and Steph said yes. Our photographer captured the whole thing as we received cheers and congrats from bystanders. Greg, with the help of the photographer, brought a bouquet of sunflowers and a bottle of champagne to celebrate. For the next hour, we walked around the Seaport District snapping pictures to commemorate the day followed by a celebratory dinner with our families. We look forward to celebrating with you!
