We had plans to sneak away and elope in Santa Barbara in April, which were cancelled due to the pandemic. We just decided to make a story and get married in Vegas!
No, but we debated all sorts of fun characters for the minister, which the chapels are happy to oblige. In the end we just decided a classic easy wedding was best.
We stayed at the Cosmopolitan in a suite with an awesome view of the Strip. Only about a third of the properties and hotels in Vegas were even open, so it was quite a surreal experience with empty streets and hushed casinos. Definitely not the Vegas everyone expects, but quite a unique situation.
No! Our gaming experience lasted about a minute. Due to COVID-19, minimum bets at the table games were higher than normal (they have to make their money back somehow) and we both lost multiple hands before we decided to walk away and cut our losses.
Probably not. The original plan was to have a reception this October, but with the uncertainty of group events even being allowed by then, plus concerns for the health and safety of those who would need to travel, we decided to scrap that. We are really bummed that means we can't get you all together to celebrate with us, but know that every one of you was there with us in spirit and we really appreciate it
We are each keeping our own!
