We’re getting married!

Our story begins with a bunch of emails. These were not emails that were romantic in context, these were strictly business. Greg worked for a lender in Newport, RI & Reb worked for a real estate firm on LI. Months leading up to us meeting, we emailed weekly working together on real estate transactions. The firm Reb worked for represented Greg’s company as the bank attorney so they often worked together to get transaction closed. Although emails started out as business only, overtime Greg & Reb started joking around & became friendly. At one point Reb, emailed Greg on things to do in Newport, since she planned to visit with her mom during Veteran’s Day weekend. The loan officer who Greg & Reb worked with suggested they meet at the company. Both laughed it off, & the loan officer insisted they meet, so, Reb decided to visit Greg at work. Both did not realize this would be the start of their story. Once they met, it was obvious to both them & anyone who was watching how well matched they were for each other & how much they had in common. Once the work day ended, they went to Diego's with one of Greg's coworkers. Greg’s coworker ended up leaving & they decided to bar hop. The night ended at Midtown Oyster Bar, & both of us were really connecting & did not want the night to end. We both had a lot to drink so instead of Greg attempting to drive home, Reb suggested Greg crash with her & her mom since the condo we booked had a living room. However, we arrived back to, Reb’s mom asleep on the couch in the living room, so we had no choice but to share a room. We stayed up late that night talking for hours until we fell asleep. Greg woke the next day, left, & said he would touch base. Reb & her mom went out for the day in Newport to explore the area. Greg texted Reb to see if they could meet up that afternoon to grab lunch. Reb said she & her mom already were out but he could grab dinner with her & her mom later expecting he would decline. Well, he did not decline. He met Reb & her mom later at Benjamin’s & Reb knew right there & then that Greg was special & absolutely crazy! Who in their right mind agrees to go out with a girl they just met & her mother? But, Greg did & it impressed Reb & her mom, Jayne. After dinner Jayne went back to the hotel & we decided to make our way through Newport. As the bars closed, Greg decided to stay again for the night to continue to hang with Reb. The next day Reb was returning to LI. After we said goodbye, Reb felt uneasy. She told her mom she forgot something, got out of the car & ran down the block after Greg. She caught him as he was at his car & blabbed out “I know we just met & you are here & I am in NY but I really feel connected to you & there is something great here that I can’t just let go & maybe this is crazy but I wanted to know can I see you again?” Greg smiled & said, I was going to text you & see what you were doing next weekend & if I could visit you. And guess what, that next weekend Greg came down to visit Reb. They had the ultimate best official first date in NYC. After we could no longer pretend that this was just a we will see how this goes. From that point forward we made the 3 hour trip every weekend to see each other. After a year & half of doing this, we decided it was time to make a move. Greg came down to LI & decided to stay for good in July of 2019. Since we have been together, we have been there for two of the toughest times in our lives, Greg created a monster by introducing Reb to the Boston Bruins, Reb learned how to snowboard & fell in love with it, became doggie parents to their bulldog Penelope, lived through a Pandemic, became beach volleyball stars (or at least competitive,) became certified scuba divers, became an uncle & an aunt to Colby & Fallon, & traveled to 7 counties since. We have created a life that is not perfect & have had our ups & downs but we created a life that is unapologetically us, it has been nothing short of a continuous adventure.
