We first met as colleagues at Equinox and barely interacted for the first couple years. Greg was an instructor and mentor to newer Trainers which eventually prompted Kelly to spend her hard earned money on Personal Training sessions with Greg to prepare for a physique competition. It wasn't until early 2019 that both of us became more comfortable talking and mistakenly thought the other was asking to grab a drink together. Little did we know that chugging a couple glasses of wine at Mario's Table would eventually lead us to a long distance relationship between Chicago and Austin. Ten months later, we decided no more distance and reunited in Chicago just in time to be locked inside together as quarantine partners. From long distance to no distance, we knew there was nothing we couldn't take on together!

Although both of us had ideas to celebrate our anniversary (July 3rd-cue the fireworks!) Greg had to tell Kelly to cancel the dinner reservation at Boka for a less formal, more relaxed evening outside on a beautiful summer evening. (The real reason for the postponement was because the ring wasn't going to be ready for our anniversary...) So Greg escorted Kelly to celebrate their anniversary a few days later on July 9th at one of their first date spots-Hampton Social in River North! Greg sat across from Kelly talking about their first time there together, anxiously awaiting dinner to be over so they could "walk to meet friends at a rooftop bar." It was a stressful walk towards the Michigan Ave. bridge, hoping Kelly wouldn't notice the ring box hiding in Greg's back pocket. As Kelly kept walking across the bridge, Greg stopped, signaled the photographers, and asked her to "take a selfie here." In typical Kelly fashion, without turning around, she said "No I'll ask someone!" But with a simple, "Here I found someone" Kelly turned around and saw Greg down on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. However, don't ask her what was said during the proposal, to this day she still couldn't tell you!
