This is where Matt took me on our first date. We were supposed to do to yoga in the park, but it was rained out. Axe throwing was just as relaxing and a great way to break the ice.
MUST SEE!! This is a double whammy right here as you can BOTH stop by the retail location to see the store that Ashton created from the ground up AND you can take a world-renowned, certified award-winning food tour guaranteed (not really, and certainly not by them) to offer some of Savannah's finest fares and coolest history. Recommendation written by Matthew Gray
Fun, kid-encouraged, spot to visit with many cool things to see. There's a family connection, too! Matt's great-grandfather on his mother's side was an engineer on the train "The Nancy Hanks" that used to come in and out of Savannah. There is an admission fee of $15 per adult and $8 per child (ages 2-12), but well worth it. There's a history museum and a children's museum on the same campus as well!
Designed by renowned architect William Jay, this museum is one of the most beautiful, and often overlooked gems in Savannah. It is located in a historic mansion and has a gorgeous garden in the back. It showcases maritime artifacts and intricate, to-scale ship models. Admission prices range from $7.00 - $25.00 based on the website.
Spice up your trip to Savannah with a ride on the funny side! Savannah for Morons, The Trolley Tour is a comedy show on wheels that roasts nearly 300 years of Savannah lore in just 90 minutes. A witty, outrageous history lesson, perfect for morons and their smarter-er friends, this tour features outrageously entertaining comedy skits, musical numbers, costume changes, a few absurd appearances, and loads of Savannah history.
The funniest place in town, HANDS DOWN. Front Porch Improv is a super special place for me. This group of people gave me an outlet for my art and held me through tough times. They offer improv shows every weekend and host a myriad of other worthy events. CHECK THEM OUT!
Bursting with eclectic art galleries, trendy boutiques, and an array of delightful cafes, this dynamic neighborhood is a favorite for locals. The Starland District is a must-visit for those seeking a blend of bohemian flair and Southern charm, making it the perfect locale to explore, shop, and savor the distinctive flavors of Savannah. Highlights include: * Starland Yard - Rotating food trucks, live music, outdoor bar * Starlandia - secondhand art supply store * Water Witch - Tiki Bar * Starland Strange & Bazaar - Funky shop with ice cream and oddities * Graveface Records - Oddities and music
We went here the day we eloped to the courthouse and also to celebrate buying our first home together.
