First and foremost, the couple wants to thank everyone for being so understanding about their wedding being family-only. However, they didn't want to miss the opportunity to celebrate with their friends too! This will be a very casual drop-in event where we can all hang out, eat, and celebrate the newlyweds! Although Grant and Mia had the same major in college since 2019, they didn’t actually talk to each other until January 2021. Grant was always talking and joking around during class. Mia, who was usually quiet, couldn’t help but laugh at his jokes. Their first interaction was one day when Mia wore a shirt with a funny TV show reference. In passing, Grant commented on how funny the show was. Fast forward to the summer of 2021. Mia joined the fire department that Grant had already been apart of for the past few years. They both found themselves enjoying the fire station’s lounge and free wifi to get homework done and wait for calls. Over the next few months, Grant was able to teach Mia how to drive and operate the firetrucks. Soon, they started looking forward to getting out of class so they could get to the station and hang out. A year after Grant first commented on Mia’s shirt, Mia moved fire stations and Grant tried asking her out on a date. Mia declined multiple times, thinking it would be weird to date her best friend. Then she realized, why wouldn’t she want to date her best friend!? She finally agreed to go on a date with him! They officially started dating on January 10, 2022 and they’ve been inseparable ever since! From coffee dates at Vintage Paris, running calls together, Grant graduating college, and even getting their adorable dog, Bigs, Grant and Mia fall in love with each other more and more every day. Knowing how Mia doesn’t like to be the center of attention, he knew that a small and intimate proposal would be the way to go. On March 13, 2023, while watching a movie at home and eating takeout from Longhorn, Grant proposed! Bigs, their dog, was wearing a collar saying, “Will you marry me?” Mia ecstatically said yes! The couple gives credit to their strong friendship and relationship with Christ as the backbone of their relationship.
