PART 1: Sam and Grace met at a sketch comedy / a cappella party during their senior year at Tulane. They were immediately drawn to each other and quickly fell in love. Grace was drawn to Sam's sense of humor and the way he walked through the world - breezy and relaxed but with great intention and keen observation. Sam was drawn to Grace's sociability and love of new experiences, and soon found her sense of community and ambition to be some of the things that kept him close. They loved driving to NOLA East for Vietnamese Food, kayaking through the bayou, and biking around New Orleans. They were surrounded by a wonderful group of friends who are all still very present in their lives today. They felt like the strength of their relationship and love for each other seemed stronger than just a senior year fling. But alas, once they graduated, they went their separate ways: Grace went to Nashville to pursue her career in the music business, and Sam stayed in New Orleans to finish his masters in public health and eventually make his way to med school. They didn't speak for years, but thought of each other often. Fast forward about 8 years... PART 2: In April 2022, Grace was heading down to NOLA for Jazz Fest. Sam was the first person that popped into her head as someone to reach out to. She has a hunch that he was single, mostly due to the fact that Sam's mom, Karen, actively replied to every single one of Grace's Instagram stories (something she hadn't done for quite some time). Grace sent Sam an Instagram DM asking if he wanted to grab a drink. They met up at Bayou Saint John and very quickly realized that they were the other's "one that got away." Instead of letting the other get away again, they decided to try to make it work. Grace would visit New Orleans every few weeks, and Sam would head up to Nashville as often as he could. They found a great rhythm and started to envision what a life together could look like. Since then, they have realized just what that life looks like! Sam and Grace have traveled the world, visited friends and friends all over the country, laughed one hundred million times, and are building a home together with their squat little dog, Auggie. They are so lucky to have all of their friends and family surrounding them for their wedding and beyond.
