Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Grace Bowers and John Harrington
We are so excited for you to visit beautiful Northern California, where we've spent our lives together, adventuring and eating :) If you're extending your visit into a family trip, or just popping in, we wanted to share our favorite spots in San Francisco and beyond.

Fairfax Festival & Eco Fest

66-88 Bolinas Rd, Fairfax, CA 94930

The town of Fairfax is hosting its two-day music festival and parade over our wedding weekend. There will be lots of activity in town -- we encourage you to check it out (and be aware of the related traffic)!

Fairfax: Food Recommendations!

Fairfax, CA 94930

Food in Fairfax: Stillwater: https://www.stillwaterfairfax.com/ Masa Masa: https://www.eatmasmasa.com/ The Hummingbird: https://the-hummingbird.business.site/ Barefoot Cafe: http://barefootcafe.com/

SF Activity: Walk along the Embarcadero to the Marina

900 North Point St, San Francisco, CA 94109

The Embarcadero is next to the water, and if you're willing to walk (or eScooter!), is a walkway that can get you to many classic San Francisco spots. You'll pass the Exploratorium (a children's museum that is low key great and also has an adults only night on Thursdays https://www.exploratorium.edu/visit/calendar/after-dark), Fisherman's Wharf (touristy, but fun to see once), Ghiradelli's Square (the shop gives out free tastes!), and Fort Mason in the Marina (Grace's old neighborhood).

SF Activity: Ferry Building

1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, CA 94105

The Ferry Market Building in SF is a cute market right on the water. Check out the shops and restaurants, which are filled with both tourists and locals. On Sunday mornings, you'll find a giant farmers market set up around the plaza. From here, you can also hop on a ferry to surrounding areas, including Larkspur, which is a 19 min drive to our venue.

SF Neighborhood: Nob Hill

San Francisco, CA

John's old neighborhood haunts include: Zekis Bar: Where Grace and John went on their first date: https://www.zekisbar.com/ Peacekeeper: Grace and John's favorite bar in the neighborhood, and an inspiration for their signature drink! https://www.peacekeepersf.com/ Del Popolo: Pizza spot and delicious. We recommend making a reservation: https://www.delpopolosf.com/

SF Neighborhood: Russian Hill / Pork Gulch

2001 Polk Street, San Francisco, CA 94109

Russian Hill is a fun neighborhood to check out, and has a more local vibe. John and I's go-to weekend plans usually included checking out the shops on Polk Street, buying picnic goods and drinks at Cheese Plus (https://cheeseplus.com/), and grabbing a spot at Lafayette Park to eat and take in the local scene. We recommend bringing something to sit on! Favorite spots also include House of Sushi, which is a hole-in-the-wall sushi spot with extremely reasonable prices (https://www.yelp.com/biz/house-of-sushi-san-francisco)!
