FAQs

Question

Are there any travel considerations we should be aware of?

Answer

Please note that beginning May 7, 2025 a REAL ID or passport will be required to fly everywhere in the United States. Take this into consideration when making travel plans.

Question

Can I bring a friend as my plus-one to your wedding?

Answer

If you received a guest with your invite, we’d love for you to bring a significant other or partner as we’d like our wedding to be as intimate as possible. However, if you would feel uncomfortable coming alone, feel free to bring a friend.

Question

How can I travel to the events?

Answer

We recommend carpooling, or using uber or lyft to navigate the city. There are limited public transportation options in Charlotte.

Question

Is there a hotel block available?

Answer

Yes, see the travel tab for more information. If rooms are not available, please reach out to either the bride or groom as we may be able to add additional rooms.

Question

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

Please wear cocktail attire. Appropriate attire would include suit pants, khakis, or chinos with a button-down shirt and suit jacket, or long or short dresses, jumpsuits, rompers, or pants and blouses.

Question

Is there parking at Alexander Homestead?

Answer

Yes! However, no cars are able to be left overnight and will be towed. If you are planning to drink, please plan accordingly.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Include dietary restrictions with your RSVP, we will accommodate dietary needs with the catering staff.

Question

Will it be hot?

Answer

We hope that holding an evening wedding may protect us from some heat, but June in Charlotte can be unpredictable. Temperatures will likely range between 75-85 degrees. Given there is no rain, we will be hosting the ceremony and cocktail hour outside. The reception will be held indoors with air conditioning. There will be water available during the ceremony.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We kindly request that our wedding be an adults-only event. We hope this allows parents to relax and fully enjoy the celebration! We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We would ask guests to avoid taking pictures during our ceremony. We will have a professional photographer, and these photos will be shared with all guests on the website following the wedding.
