Mehndi / Henna Party

5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Rancho Bernardo Inn
17550 Bernardo Oaks Drive, Aragon Lawn/Ballroom, San Diego, CA 92128

Join us for a Welcome Reception/ Mehndi (Henna) party! The feel of the evening will be casual so feel free to stop by whenever the mood strikes you. Food and bar service will be available. Wear sundresses or floral prints. Ladies, make sure to wear short/cropped sleeves if you want Mehndi (henna) applied. Casual Indian attire is encouraged. Mehndi—or henna—is an ancient form of body art, originating in India. A Mehndi party is the pre-wedding celebration in Hindu culture when the bride has the red-orange mehndi "stain" applied to her palms, back of hands, and feet. Tradition says the deeper the color of the bride's mehndi, the happier the bride and groom's marriage will be. Designs symbolize various blessings, luck, joy, and love, and the groom's name is usually hidden somewhere in the intricate patterns. We'll see if you can find Megh's name!

Traditional Wedding Ceremony

9:00 am - 1:30 pm

Rancho Bernardo Inn
17550 Bernardo Oaks Dr, Aragon Floor, San Diego, CA 92128

Join us bright and early for the traditional wedding ceremony. We invite all guests to join us for lunch after the ceremony. Traditional Indian formal attire is welcome, and so are suits in lighter hues and cocktail dresses. Don't be afraid of color. The most beautiful part of the wedding is seeing our guests in vibrant colors celebrating our wonderful occasion! The Hindu wedding will place inside a canopy called a mandap. The ceremony is broken down into several smaller ceremonies. These ceremonies are meant to honor the couple's love and ensure the success of their marriage by invoking the blessings of various deities and joining the families in celebration.
