As a civilian, you are able to tour the campus. It's right on the water and a really beautiful place to walk around. Bring a photo ID to get on campus.
This is the oldest U.S. state capitol in continuous legislative use, dating back to 1772. It houses the Maryland General Assembly and the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. It's a quick self-guided tour but a pretty cool step back in time.
If you're new to Annapolis, take some time to check out the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Stop by the Market House at the end of the street or take a break at one of the many bars/coffee shops around.
