Hotel

TWA Hotel (at JFK Airport)

1 Idlewild Drive, Queens, NY 11430

To book a room in our hotel block, click the "View" link below. The discount code will already be applied for both Friday and Saturday night. If you only need a room for Saturday night, you can change your check in / check out dates at the top of the page. If rooms appear to be unavailable, please contact us at wedding@sullivan.xyz. We recommend this accommodation for those staying overnight. All events will take place here, and while there are other hotels nearby, they require navigating around JFK airport which is not always easy.

Discount Code - JGADWS600 (already applied at link below)

Travel Note

Van Wyck Traffic

The highway near the venue is under active construction. Often this can mean traffic surges happen quickly (a crane narrows expressway to one lane) and add 15-20 minutes to travel time mid route. If traveling by car from NYC / North Jersey, and the type to get anxious, we recommend leaving a little bit of extra time. Worst case you’ll get to explore the unique venue!

Travel Note

Parking

When you arrive to JFK, follow the signs for the TWA hotel (clearly marked and can’t be missed). Follow them all the way to the front entrance and the valet parking for the hotel. Say you’re there for the “Gordon Sullivan Wedding” and you’ll be set 🙂.

Train

AirTrain

For those flying into JFK, getting to the hotel and wedding venue is incredibly easy as they are at the airport. To get around the airport (terminal-to-terminal), you can use the AirTrain. Using AirTrain within JFK is free of cost. From whatever terminal you land at, look for the signs for the "AirTrain" on your way to or at baggage claim. It will be clearly marked on most airport signs. Once on the AirTrain, take it to Terminal 5. Announcements and signs will also show this is the stop for the TWA Hotel. The TWA Hotel is a short walk from the Terminal 5 stop. The AirTrain runs in a loop around the airport -- if arriving at Terminal 7/8, you may need to take the AirTrain to "Federal Circle" station and restart the loop to go to "all terminals." AirTrain runs 24/7 and generally has attendants in red blazers at each stop to help navigate if unsure. If exiting JFK airport (to go to NYC), there is an AirTrain fee that can be paid with cash or credit card. More details on that in "LIRR" section below. For more information on AirTrain, you can use the below link.

Train

LIRR (to/from NYC)

For those looking to explore NYC during their visit, the Long Island Railroad is a good option. The trip takes about 45-50 minutes and costs $10-15. Taxis/Ubers cost $50-$90 and depending on traffic may take longer (over an hour) to get to Manhattan. To do this, from TWA Hotel, take the AirTrain to "Jamaica Station." Once exiting the AirTrain, look for signs to the Long Island Railroad - it's about a 5 minute walk to an outdoor station with 10 platforms. Look for trains heading to Grand Central Terminal or Penn Station. Either of these will be the last stop on the train and can't be missed. Grand Central will be better for uptown sites (Times Square, Central Park, Museum Mile) and Penn Station will be better for downtown ones (Statue of Liberty, WTC Memorial, Wall Street). Once in the city, subways or taxis are good options to connect you to final destination. LIRR tickets are usually $5-8 and can be purchased at kiosks on the platform, or through the "MTA TrainTime" app. Times and schedules can be viewed there or on www.mta.info. During the day, trains are frequent and should arrive within a half hour regardless. AirTrain tickets are $8.50 and purchased as you enter / exit turnstiles at "Jamaica Station." To get back to hotel, do the same in reverse, and make sure to get off the LIRR at "Jamaica Station -- JFK." Happy adventuring!!

For all the days along the way
