Who knew that video stores were still a thing (not anymore they’re not) and that anything beyond crap movies, full collections of tv shows that always skipped at the good parts, and a wild collection of people (both working and renting) could be found? Definitely not James and Becky. Alas, that is where their story begins. Picture it - a cold Michigan February, circa 2016, an unnecessarily early Sunday morning opening shift (do people really need to rent movies at 9 am?), one slightly hungover but still peppy manager and one customer in a full suit and tie on his way to church (something that hasn’t happened since that day). Some very obvious flirting, a mistaken identity and one dog-sitting offer later, her phone number was in his possession. First date February 7th. Second date - February 11th. Boyfriend/Girlfriend? See above. Moving in together? Mid-March. Did anyone else get whiplash from that? Keep in mind, that was 2016. Since, James and Becky have moved several times, bought one house, two more nephews have been born, three siblings have been married, college degrees have been earned, cars have been bought, sold and totaled, and happy weight has been gained. Getting engaged in 2019, and having the world shut down in 2020, means they’ve had plenty of time to plan and coordinate their wedding. Have they? No. Because where’s the fun in that! But they’ve finally buckled down and decided, what better way to celebrate their “death before divorce” plan than to throw an awesome party on St. Patrick’s day with their favorite people? Family, friends, best friends, and the odd straggler or two (if you’re confused who that may be rest assured it’s not you) are invited to drink and be merry with Becky and James as they say their I Do’s. Now, What’s Next?
