Zakir Hussain Rose Garden

Located in sector 16 of Chandigarh, Rose Garden is a blooming exhibit that showcases around 825 varieties of flowers and 32,500 varieties of trees and medicinal shrubs. Rose Garden in Chandigarh, also known as Zakir Hussain Rose Garden after the former president of India, although the best time to visit is during the bloom from January to March, the garden is spread over 30 acres and is decked up with an exquisite variety of flowers making it quite popular among tourists and nature enthusiasts. It is the largest garden of its kind in Asia and was built in the year 1967 under the guidance of the First Chief Commissioner, MS Randhawa.

Located in sector 1 of the beautiful city Chandigarh, The Rock Garden is a massive open-air exhibition hall that displays sculptures made from urban and industrial wastes that have been designed and executed by Nek Chand, a former Road Inspector in Chandigarh. It is located between the famous Sukhna Lake and the Capitol Building and is a spectacle that is must-visit! Also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden, this massive 40-acre garden is a colourful mosaic of art pieces and sculptures. The Rock garden was built in the year 1957 by officer Nek Chand single-handedly in his spare time and has become a long-standing symbol of imagination and novelty in the city. Having a total of about 5,000 statues within its bounds, the Rock Garden in Chandigarh is a true example of 'Best From Waste'.

Sukhna Lake

Nestled at the foot of Shivalik Hills, Sukhna Lake stretches a distance of 3 sq. km., and is a man-made lake and is the only one of its kind in the city, created in the year 1958 by damming the seasonal Sukhna Choe (Stream) that flows down the Shivalik Hills. With its pristine blue water, the lake serves as a perfect location for a stream of morning joggers and walkers who can also enjoy the fresh air. In fact, the architect of Chandigarh - India's first planned city - Le Corbusier claimed that this lake would be the centre of wellness pursuits for the residents. The promenade in front of the lake is frequented by walkers and joggers who carry out their exercise regimes here. Moreover, it also has one of the longest rowing channels in the country that host the Asian Rowing Championships. The best way to enjoy a tour of the Sukhna Lake is to go on a lazy boating tour on it. You can hire a boat for an individual or for a couple, which would cost you between INR 50 - INR 100

In the heart of Old Delhi, The Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square) is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, India. It is located close to Old Delhi Railway Station. The Red Fort monument is located at the eastern end of Chandni Chowk and is now a museum. It was built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor of India Shah Jahan and designed by his daughter Jahanara. The Jama Masjid is a huge red-sandstone masque with towering minarets. The market was once divided by canals (now closed) to reflect moonlight and remains one of India's largest wholesale markets. Chandni Chowk is a busy shopping area with markets full of spices, dried fruit, silver jewelry and vivid saris, while the narrow side streets are crowded with tiny shops selling essential oils, stationery and traditional Indian sweets. If you're looking for bargain items, including traditional clothing, this is the number one spot to get them! Bargaining is okay, but tourists are advised to be careful of pickpockets.

Sarojini nagar is a famous market in South Delhi where you can buy branded clothes like Zara, Mango, gap, Benetton etc for as little as Rs 50. Located in the neighborhood of South Delhi, Sarojini Nagar market is one of the best places to shop in Delhi. In this market, you can buy clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags, cosmetics for a very cheap price. Some of the clothes you get here are the export surplus garments, which is why they are sold at such low prices. The only drawback of this market is that you won’t find any fitting rooms here as the shops are on the streets, but, that won't stop you from finding branded clothes for as low as Rs 100, would it? This market remains closed on Monday but, you can get the cheapest finds on Monday as only a few vendors are open on Monday. Other than shopping, Sarojini Nagar is also popular for its street food. Do try out the momos, pav-bhaji, milkshakes, sweets and more. This market opens around 11 AM and closes around 9-10 PM.

The tomb, built between 1622 and 1628, and represents a transition between the first phase of monumental Mughal architecture – primarily built from red sandstone with marble decorations, as in Humayun's Tomb in Delhi and Akbar's tomb in Sikandra – to its second phase, based on white marble and pietra dura inlay, most elegantly realized in the Taj Mahal. The mausoleum was commissioned by Nur Jahan, the wife of Jahangir, for her father Mirzā Ghiyās Beg, originally a Persian Amir in exile,[1] who had been given the title of I'timād-ud-Daulah (pillar of the state).
