Shannon's Version: We originally met at work. We both worked at UPMC east on a medsurgical floor. Jacob was a nurse and I was only a nurse aide at the time. When we first met it was not sparks. I enjoyed having Jacob as a coworker and thought he was good looking but I didn't think of him anymore than that. I always admired Jacob as a nurse. I always thought he was a compassionate and amazing nurse. I only first really noticed him was when we were both taking care of a lady that had cancer. I was in the room assisting him. Jacob was so incredibly gentle and kind with her. He took his time and made sure she was comfortable. Watching him just touched my heart and I was so in awe of him. That day on my home from work, I just thought “wow I could be in love with this guy”, then I thought I was just being weird and brushed it off. I never stopped bragging to my sister about the nurse named Jacob from work that was so amazing and just a wonderful person. Later, I found out at a work party that Jacob had a crush on me. I was in disbelief. It was like the most popular guy in school has a crush on ME? We were at work together one night and Jacob wanted to meet up for lunch to talk about what i heard. We were so nervous. i didn't even eat my lunch! From there started our love story. I still till this day tell Jacob, "I knew I loved you before I knew you"

Jacob’s Version: I first met Shannon at work at UPMC. She was still a nurses aide at that point and was my favorite aide to work with. I was initially attracted to her amazing work ethic and her outstanding care for her patients. Then one day, something changed for me, it was kind of just out of the blue. She had just cut her hair and I thought she looked beautiful. I found myself really starting to notice her more and more to the point where I had to tell her how I felt. One night at work I asked her if we could meet up for lunch, I was prepared to tell her finally that I thought she was beautiful and wanted to know if or how she felt about that! Well, long story short but now I get to marry my best friend and we get to spend the rest of our lives together!
