What is happening with your wedding (regarding Covid-19)?

Answer

We are no longer getting married in Stowe due to Vermont's travel restrictions. We are still in the process of figuring out what we can do on 8/22 to celebrate our marriage. With things changing daily, we know that we will probably have to make a very last minute decision on where and how to get married. We hope that all of you are doing well during this time, and we hope that we will be able to celebrate (in one way or another) soon!

Why did you choose Vermont and the Trapp Family Lodge for your wedding?

Answer

Samantha's family had a home in Smuggler's Notch (across the mountain from Stowe) and would go there every winter and summer. Michael and Samantha went to Vermont in August 2018 and visited the Trapp Family Lodge together. When Michael and Samantha started to think about where and what they wanted for their wedding, they thought back to their time in Vermont and knew it would be a perfect place to get married! We really appreciate the Bavarian influence of the Lodge, because of Samantha's and Dirk's heritage! If you do not know who Dirk is - you should probably look him up before the wedding, as he is Mike's first love.

Cocktail Attire. Ladies, you will be walking through grass to get to the ceremony site... so choose your shoes wisely!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at the Trapp Family Lodge. Please do not drink and drive, and consider other forms of transportation to our wedding festivities. You can find more information in the "Travel" tab.
