John and I met 10 years ago at the Andaz in San Diego. I was his bartender. He was married and I was engaged, so we thought nothing of it. I moved out of the state for 3 years and we had no contact. 6 years ago I broke up with my then fiancé, sold everything and moved back to Cali. Before looking for a new Aesthetics position, I went to Africa for 5 weeks to help an orphange. Playing soccer with the kids was my favorite day in life. When I came back to Cali, with nothing, my heart was pulling me towards Africa. I now had a desire to give back, serve and make a difference. I didn’t know what to do but remembered a man named John Gomez that had a huge heart and was incredibly generous. I asked him to meet me for lunch. When I told him my story he said that he had an idea for his law firm and that I would be perfect for it. He immediately offered me a job that I couldn’t refuse. I was the Director of Outreach for Gomez Trial Attorneys. I acted as the liaison between the Firm and the Community. There wasn’t a week that went by that GTA was not involved in some activity within the community. Because of my position, I was recognized as one of SD’s top 40 under 40 by SD Metro Magazine. Although I loved my position, my true career lies in skin care. I believe the reason I had a career change was to meet my forever partner. Now, John still has his law firm that is going strong. I have my own skin care business, Your Best Face by Leah Grace, and we have a nonprofit in Africa, 2 Feet 1 Goal. John and I were friends before we started dating and I feel that has lead our relationship to have a strong foundation and mutual respect. I am beyond excited to marry my person and my best friend. Thank you all for being part of our lives and our special celebration. I look forward to making memories with all of you and with my future hubby and his amazing children, JD, Michael and Analise. Our dog, Tottenham Mahalo, cannot make it but sends his love as well. #GoingGomez
